I wonder if you have a “limiting belief ” about the type of production value your program deserves.
I realize it is a recorded live broadcast, but I think for the recorded copies sent out later, just a little editing would enhance the information you are trying to teach. Just a little polish…for example, edit out the typing noises and the room noise and the phone calls and the awkward pauses, and it would feel better. It gives the impression that you don’t care and that you don’t know what you are doing, and I know that is so far from the truth because I am a long time follower.
I know, it is just “events that I am giving meaning”…but you asked for my in-put and I do care that your message is presented in a way that is clear, with no distractions, because as a listener, I felt you didn’t care if it was clear to me or not. I almost turned it off in the first few minutes because that typing noise over her voice was so awful…then there was the computer fan noise! I would suggest Garageband that has a user friendly program that is set up for editing podcasts. I’m certain there are others.
(If you don’t wish to edit, do a sound check at the beginning of recording. Get a separate, directional microphone! It won’t pick up so much room noise and Britney’s voice won’t sound like she is in a bathroom. Move noisy things like computers away from the microphone, turn off phones, have someone pre-answer the webinar calls so they are ready for the presenter…consider your listeners.) Your message deserves better!
As far as content, Britney did very well. I would have liked when she introduced herself to give her name. I had to replay Morty’s interruption to even get her name. I actually preferred when she was explaining the tips for eliminating beliefs to the audience in general more than the actual calls. I didn’t feel it was just her “talking” and using up time, I thought it was helpful.
Thank you for giving us a place to give our feed back. Best wishes!
Thanks for the feedback. I am very sorry that the recording had so many problems.
For technical reasons Britt was unable to record the webinar on Gotowebinar, which is the best way to do it. So I signed in and could hear the entire webinar on my computer; then I recorded it through the air on my little pocket recording device.
I then walked away and came back later. I forgot I was recording and at one point typed something on my computer and didn’t take the phones out of the room where my computer was.
We will do our best to make a better recording next time.
Thanks for your interest in our work and your support.
